Camera App Deals for Labor Day
So it’s the last big weekend as summer approaches its close for another year. I don’t know about you, but the sunsets are wonderful in my part of the world as the farmers kick up the soil as they take in their crops.
If you’re a photo junkie, what better way to enjoy the long weekend than snapping pictures from your mobile phone and sharing your creations with the world? We’ve got a few camera app specials for you to pick up before the weekend draws to a close and the deals disappear.
Camera & Photo App Deals For Labor Day Weekend
Feeling some artistic inspiration that needs an outlet? Mobile Monet takes a photo you’ve shot, and makes a black & white “sketch” version to start. That’s your canvas. Now comes the fun part. You “brush” over your image to give it a creative painted look. Press harder and you get more effect. Definitely artsy.
When you’re finished, share by Facebook, Twitter or Instagram among others.
If rapid fire is your game, it doesn’t get better than QuickPix. Rapid fire 2fps on the iPhone 4, and at full resolution no less. You can also take photos while shooting a video which is a nice little bonus, however, my favourite feature, called “QuickPic” takes a photo as soon as the app launches. If you’re looking for the fastest way to snap a shot on your iPhone, this is it.
If being a superhero was your childhood dream, maybe it’s time you made it a reality and had your own comic strip. That’s what Halftone does.
Choose your photos, and either make a collage or a one-off comic book frame, including fun fonts and styles for thought bubbles. You can even put in your favourite 1960’s Batman-style “SOCK” and “KAPOOOOW” stamps.
If you’re looking for another app to get your filter on, Vignette for Android could be for you. Think Instagram without the sharing network built in to start. On the plus side, it has a pile of options & customizations, and you can save your favourite presets to access them easily once you have found what you like. On the negative side, it’s a bit hard to get into, and a bit of a pain to test all of the effects to find what you like since you switch them through menus.
Still, it’s a decent buy on sale to get yourself a new creative tool.
Vignette for Android is $0.99 through the Labor Day weekend (regularly $2.99).
One of the most popular camera apps on the Google Play store, Camera Zoom FX is a little like the regular camera on steroids. High on features, like easy exposure controls before, and quick adjustments after you have taken your shot make using it a breeze. Not as full of filter effects like Vignette or Instagram are, but more of an all-around camera app instead.
Camera Zoom FX for Android is $2.79 this week (regularly $3.99).
