Happy Birthday TMA! – Dell XPS 13 Giveaway
The TMA Dell XPS 13 Giveaway
In honour of our 100th post on Too Many Adapters, we’re celebrating with a contest. We’re giving away a Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook stuffed with a Core i5, 128GB SSD, 4GB DDR3 memory. You can read more about this notebook (Part 1 / Part 2) that we gave a score of 8/10 and recommended for travelers.
Background:
In case you’re new to TMA, we talk about Technology for Travelers. So that iPhone or Android smartphone sitting beside that laptop you’re typing on. That GPS that helps you with your geocaching hobby. The iPad or tablet you’re packing on weekend trips. Those apps you can’t travel without. The camera gear you so badly want to buy but haven’t yet…
We’re the guys to keep you in the know, (and justify buying it when it’s awesome)
We also like to keep it light with opinion pieces where we cut through the fluff marketing, and BS practices in the tech and travel industries.
So Here’s the Deal
We’re holding this contest through Rafflecopter, which will randomly select the winner(s) from the entries we receive before the contest closes on Aug 10th. You can increase your chances of winning with multiple entries, and some creativity.

- Liking our Too Many Adapters Facebook Page (optional)
- Follow Too Many Adapters on Twitter (optional)

I’d take it with me to Oklahoma — most specifically to the region which was the “Indian Territory” until it was merged with the “Oklahoma Territory” to form the state of Oklahoma in 1907. The Indian Territory had an amazing history — including a convention to write a constitution for the proposed state of Sequoyah (named for a Cherokee) which the US Congress rejected because it gave Indians and women the right to vote, and gave Indians citizenship.

but if you mean on a plane, austin will be my next one.
Next trip is to Las Vegas. Not sure I’ll need a laptop there, but at least it will fit in the safe better than my 15″ MBP.
I’ll take it to the little yarn store I own with my mom in Canada and watch some cute kitteh videos with her!!!!
I’d take the Dell XPS 13 back to Australia with me giggling all the way!
I may have to hide it from my house mate though because he is looking for a new laptop he can take everywhere…
My mac is on it’s last legs I fear so I need a new computer badly…Where would I take it? Lots of travel lined up so first it would be going to California to help out at the ASTA Travel conference where we are speaking, then directly on an Eco Trip in Ohio, then to TBEX in Spain, then to Paris, Venice and finally on a Danube river cruise. I will be sure it get’s it travel legs and treated like a Prince on it’s travels!
All the possible first places I would be taking my new computer if I won it makes my head spin!! Hmm… most likely Austin, TX but I am keeping my fingers crossed to go to travel through Indonesia before then!
The first place I’d take my XPS 13 is on a road trip in Southern Alberta, blogging the mountains and the valleys.
Thanks for the awesome contest!
It will come with us wherever we happen to be at the time. Currently Cambodia next Sri Lanka then Myanmar……I would love to give Internet cafe’s the flick.
I would take the XPS 13 with me to TBU and TBEX next month (as well as to England for a quick trip to see my family). And after that…who knows?
See ya @ TBEX, good luck!
3 week camping trip from Cape Town to Vic Falls at Christmas oh and perhaps to work before then to earn the money to take me away.
I’d take the XPS 13 round the world! Congratulations and thanks for all the tips TMA!
The XPS 13 is the coolest laptop I’ve had the pleasure of using in a LONG time. Dell let me demo one and it was amazing (video here for my interview on FOX http://youtu.be/pA_aNdId988)! The first place I’d take this XPS would to Europe! I can’t wait to go back and visit with my new friends there.
Dan
TV Star!
(and ya, it’s pretty slick)
I will take the XPS 13 to station as my study continues in Australia. It will be really helping in my study. Hope I get it
The first place I’d take the laptop is to a blogging conference that I’m going to early next month, and then hopefully on our next big trip next spring -wherever that may be! Hope I win!
Super
looking forward to be lucky then !
I would take the XPS with me to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands this September =)
The first place I would take the ultrabook. Tough call. I don’t travel much, and when I do locally it’s not usually with a laptop. Also, I would have this replace my wife’s laptop and I would re-purpose her old one. With that in mind the first place I(we) would take it would likely be visiting family in Colorado.
I would take it to Cancun- the next trip I’m taking. My current lap top doesn’t hold a power unless it’s plugged in and as you know that sucks! This would be incredible!
The first place I would take this would be a short trip to Calgary (boring I know but the rules didn’t state it had to be exciting.)
The first place I would take it would be to Vancouver!
Oh, I so need a new computer…holding my old one together with tape! Would take it with me to New Zealand to do some photo post-processing on the fly. : )
The first place this bad boy is going with me? Montreal, so I can live blog the croissants, BYOB and fabulous francophile culture!
First place will be a quite room to test out the ‘ahem’ internet.
I would bring it with me to Iceland and Europe where it will keep me occupied and away from chocolate fountains.
Honestly, the FIRST place will most likely be the toilet. But next I’ll bring it to Harry Potter World in Florida to share my childhood with it
.
Hello, I’d love to win this and I’d take it to Egypt in September – would be very useful!
So, where would I take a new laptop? Probably the first trip would be to Delhi India or Tokyo Japan. Those are the next two trips I have planned, however, it is also possible that the cute little computer may take its maiden trip to Beijing or Shanghai China.
I’d retire my 10lbs 2005 Toshiba laptop (with totally dead battery) and actually leave me home with a computer…like it’s the 21st century!
I’d LOVE this! Then I’d be able to skype with my kids when I’m in the Caribbean this fall and Prague in Spring!!!!!
I’d give it to my nephew who is starting college this year.
Entering! I found out about the contest last minute via the WDS Facebook page and Dustin’s comment there. Thank you guys for doing this!
I’m currently walking and biking from the United States to Brazil. So the first place I would take it is the next leg of my trip, biking along the Mississippi River through small towns in Wisconsin!
Although I don’t get to travel to fun places abroad…I do travel a lot for work and its frustrating trying to manage everything from my phone! This would definitely come in handy!! Fantastic website, I will be recommending this to all my friend!
I would take this computer straight to a school here in Northern Thailand and give it to them. I know I would be very happy to win but someone would be happier to receive it to use in school.
My daughter would take it to school.
The first place would be in my backpack heading to the warm sun kissed duty free island beach of Pulau Tioman for our team building weekend getaway completely blinding any Canon & Nikon DSLR’s with my savvy tech device.
It would go on our trip to Italy with us.
I’ll take the Dell XPS 13 if I win to Jordan as I’m currently studying there in Banking. I really need it for my assignments and tasks.
I don’t have enough money to travel, so I will only take the laptop to the nearest library and relax reading some ebooks.
i got a photo, empty bag, but how do i put it on this site please?
The first place I’d take it is Thailand!
Who won?
Hoping to draw and contact winners later today or tomorrow Jim. Dave is in the middle of an epic train bonanza in Europe and I’m swamped at the moment. Fret not!
Winners have been e-mailed. We’ll make the announcement with a list of names shortly.
